IOF Opens Fire at Palestinian Farmers East of Jabalaiya

At approximately 10:40 am on Wednesday, 13 May 2015, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire at farmers who were near the borders east of the Abu Safeyya area east of Jabaliya in North Gaza district. According to Al Mezan’s field investigations, the IOF opened fire at farmers who were in their farms about 300 meters away from the borders. The shooting continued for minutes. As a result, farmers abandoned their work and left the area. No injuries or casualties  were reported

 At approximately 10:30, Israeli forces stationed along the border fence, east of al-Shuhadaa' Cemetery and east of Abu Safiyah area, east of Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip, opened fire sporadically at the border area.  The shooting resulted in fear among farmers, who were in the agricultural lands adjacent to the border zone.  As a result, they fled for fear of being wounded.  Neither injuries nor damages to the property were reported.  At approximately 14:00, the shooting was resumed in the same area.
